Development Model

"Water & Sanitation---A way to Development Project" is the most successful project of IITD.; - the project is supported by IIMK-MEMISA-VPWvO, Belgium. The project provides safe drinking water through installations of tube wells which are managed by a Committee (Tube well Management Committee) formed by the beneficiaries themselves driven by ownership spirit. It has been proved to be a sustainable project;

i) We have successfully installed 49 Tube wells in 49 different areas of Sunderban for Providing Safe Drinking Water, total fund accumulated in 49 Tube well committee is Rs. 9, 00,514/- approx. The beneficiaries have collected Rs. 15000/- for each Tube well from the benefiting community; opened a Bank A/C. each beneficiaries are contributing Rs. 5/- per month to each respective Tube well management committee thus Rs. 300/- approx. is depositing in the Bank A/C. The Tube well money is used for Tube well repairing and maintenance purpose. It is also used for internal lending in emergencies.

ii) There are 222 S.H.G groups with 2600 members approx. under 34 S.H.G Village Cluster and 6 S.H.G Union Cluster under IITD Guidance & Management. Total amount saved by the member in each respective 222 Bank A/C are Rs. 7200000/- (Seventy Two Lakhs) approx. which they give for internal loan among the needy S.H.G members at the time of emergency as well as for economic development activities.

iii) To provide ways and means for income generation of rural people. The project gives grant/financial support for self employment. IITD has given 15 chickens to each deserving families of Sagar, Patharpratima, Namkhana and Kakdwip block of 24 PGS(S). Total number of families covered are 9500 approx. each family returned back the seed money to the project for further distribution among other needy family. It was possible only because of mind set of the commute people is changed, Ownership concept is improved towards community participation and community contribution. Each family earn Rs. 2000 – 5000 per year by this poultry farming.

iv) In case of Goatry farming IITD provides One She – Goat only to a needy family with Medicine, Vaccination and Treatment Support: after One Year / Two Year the family return back One She – Goat to the project for further distribution among other needy family. Thus creating a revolving fund of community for lively hood development support to the needy beneficiaries. after making good surplus/profit.

MISSION SCHOOL

Ideal Mission School is located at A – 38, Srijani, Joka, Kolkata – 700 104. It was under Joka – II Gram Panchyat at the time of foundation. There was not a proper English Medium School in this locality and aspiring students had to travel far for education.

To realize the dreams of those countless parents who could not study in English medium school due to different on constrains but had cherished the desire to send their children to an English medium school to be groomed and enjoy excellent education in child friendly ambience.

The school started functioning since 2010 with lower classes up to class II and each year one class is added and now it is up to standard VIII. The school started its journey with 52 students and the school aims at providing effective and comprehensive quality education for all communities towards all round development with social and moral values. Through the medium of English with adequate to mother tongue.

The present roll strength of the school is 400plus and the number of students is remarkably increasing every year. The parents are co-operative and helpful, the teachers are dedicated, qualified and competent. We aspire to become the best school in this area in near future. The school is facing at present acute shortage of rooms for taking more admissions of new students. We need to construct 12 rooms urgently and looking for help from other institutions/ organizations etc. To fulfill our dream for education.

Training Division

Training is way of converting knowledge in skill. It leads to skill development. In order to cope with the rapit change the knowledge passing through: one must abreast with change effects and this is only prosible by under going training.

Important training conducted in areas like shg management, Cluster approach of SHG formulation of sustainable schemes, garment manufacturing, Vermicomposting, egriculture activities entrepreneurship development etc.

Training is continuous procese, it is tool to keep pace with the technological changes . training is a two way proceses by which the traner can understand the need of training so as to infuse the ingredients of training and trainers can respond suitably. Job oriented training is the best method training which not only gives input but also plays grate role for motivation.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT came into being in the year 1985; it is a society registered under West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961. The main objective is to reach the people with the approach to develop the human resources by providing sustainable means of various activities leading to income generation, quality health care services, imparting need based training, entrepreneurship development and sustainable livelihood development. Within the span of 38 years of service to the people the IITD achieved the glory of serving the people of the localities of Sagar, Patharpratima, Kakdwip and Namkhana blocks of Sundarban under South 24 parganas of West Bengal. Significant performances comprise of providing drinking water facilities through installation of tube wells under ownership and management of the Tube well Committee beneficiaries. Formation of SHGs, formulation and implementation of gainful occupations like Goat Rearing, Poultry Farming, Fishery, Agriculture And Allied Activities, HIV/AIDS prevention and control and entrepreneurship development. IITD’s“Water & Sanitation –A way to development” a flagship programme has becomeof model for replication in other areas.All Tube wells together have accumulated a fund of Rs 17,39,713/- for Tube well repairing and maintenance and also for internal lending in case of urgent necessities of the beneficiaries. Around 3000 women are united in 262 SHGs under 1 (One) SHG federation guided by IITD. All the SHGs have accumulated a fund of Rs. 2.35 Crores which they use for internal lending at the time of emergency and economic development. IITD provides training for creating awareness in respect of various schemes and projects and also for capacity building of the NGOs, CBOs and other people engaged in different development activities. IITD Training Division is equipped with modern Training Equipments,Modern Infrastructure, Good Ambience, Acoustics and Manned by experts of required disciplines and domains. Many NGOs, government and corporate houses are using the training facilities of IITD Training centre. IITD Training programs are not stereotypes; the training programs are looked and re looked suiting to the call of the days.IITD is implementing HIV/AIDS prevention and control project for commercial sex workers supported by WBSAP&CS in three block of Kakdwip subdivision.IITD is also providing health care services comprising of hygiene,education, family planning, institutional delivery, adolescent health, immunization,mainutrition and detection of cervical cancer as well as health awareness etc. in 29 sansad of Kakdwip Block with the support of Govt. Health Dept .and Govt Health Service Providerssuch as ANMs, ASHA, ANWs etc.Another feather on the cap of IITD is Ideal Mission School (English Medium) established in 2010. The school has earned reputation and popularity among the people of the locality by this time. The School is affiliated to the CISCE, New Delhi and also affiliated for ISC ( Std.XI - XII ). The eco friendly training centre under Training Support Service of IITD rendering services to NGOs, Govt. Dept. and Corporate House to organize their training / workshop at IITD's campus.IITD is pioneer in providing trining.It imparts training for improving knowledge, skill & attitude,competency & capacity building, effectiveness in management& creating professional outlook.The vocational training such as Tailoring, Beautician course are able to create employment opportunity among the poor section of the society>
